Computing

At Church Crookham, we are aware we are preparing children for a future in which Information Communication Technology (ICT) is an integral part of society so our challenge is to equip them with as many ICT skills as possible.

We aim for the children to have high levels of attainment in ICT and for ICT to be an integral part of teaching and learning across the curriculum.  Our lessons are enhanced through the use of meaningful, contextual, audience led projects which use a range of ICT tools.

At present, we follow some aspects of the ICT National Curriculum, although as this is not compulsory during this academic year, additional ICT opportunities have been included.

E-Safety

Central to all ICT work is developing pupils’ understanding of e-safety issues.  Our school aims to protect and educate staff and pupils in its use of technology, and has a flexible approach to intervene and support should a particular e-safety issue arise with a particular class or year group. However, we recognise that e-safety is a child safety issue and everyone involved in a child’s life has a part to play in relation to e-safety.  The Department for Education state that a senior management team member should also be the central contact point for all e-safety issues.  At our school this Miss Pam Meek, our Deputy Headteacher.
