French

At Church Crookham, children start learning French from Year 3 through traditional children's songs, finger rhymes and games.

As they progress, the children carry on expanding their knowledge  further through songs, games, stories and other activities that are designed to be fun. The children are able to say personal information about themselves, they can recognise everyday keywords and by the end of Year 6 they are aware of some grammatical points and they can express their own ideas using their previous knowledge.

The overall aim is for pupils to be able to show understanding and to be able to communicate using what they know in the language, having acquired language learning skills ready for Secondary School.
